Anita Jongerman

Anita Jongerman started playing violin at the age of six. When she was twelve she followed the 'Young Talent Class in Zwolle with Peter Brunt and Rachel Podger.

She studied violin at The Hague and Utrecht Colleges of Music and participated in Masterclasses with Vahid Khadem Missagh in Austria and Donald Weilerstein and Albrecht Breuniger in Paris.

At present Anita is first violinist with the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and freelances regularly with all the major orchestras in The Netherlands. From 2006 until 2010 she was principal second violin with the Magogo Chamber Orchestra.

Since 2007 she is leader and artistic director of the Netherlands Symphonic Chamber Orchestra ( and was recently soloist with the Cheliabinsk Chamber Orchestra. She played Vivaldi's Four Seasons and also Bach's Double Concerto together with her sister Inge.

Anita plays on a Gustav Bernadel violin made in Paris, 1866.
